Kuala Kumpur, Malaysia
A favourite pasta dish usually prepared by mum. It is never boring and tastes really yummy. Special tips for preparing this dish include:
- make sure that you don't overstir the sauce or else it will become too watery
- wear googles when chopping the onions, garlic and shallots
- use fresh parsley and basil
- don't make the gammon into too big pieces or it won't fit into your mouth
- you can use other meat in the sauce
- drain the cooked pasta and rinse with cold water; if eaten straight away the cooled pasta doesn't need to be reheated and can be served with the hot sauce.
- the pasta can be cooked in a thermos cooker (most Chinese people have this) to prevent overcooking of the pasta
N.B: 'Ling Queennie' is a pun for 'linguine'- the type of pasta which is used for this dish.
Ling= Queensie, Queennie=Queennie
