Eton Mess

Finally, I get to try Eton Mess.
It's a dessert that apparently originated from Eton; a mix of crushed meringue, whipped cream and strawberries.

I've watched this being made countless of times on 'Ready Steady Cook'. All the chefs must have made this at some point because it's so quick and easy to prepare. All you need is for the contestant to bring in a box of strawberries or raspberries and this summer pudding can be whipped up in no time.

Although 'Ready Steady Cook' isn't on anymore, but I do remember good old Ainsley with the red tomato and green pepper kitchens. In the early days, he would hold out the pan and shake it with one hand in the air, or use a bit of 'Sally Salt' or 'Percy Pepper' for seasoning. He was great.

Now, all there's left is 'Masterchef' or 'Great British Menu'...it ain't half as good as 'Ready Steady Cook'...
