Michael & Monica's 'Dumplings'

Hong Kong

These delicate meat and vegetable dim sum delights are definately worth the time and effort to make. The dumplings are filled with a stirfiried mixture of minced meat, dried shrimps, chinese mushrooms, chowchow and spring onion, and wrapped inside a pastry which turns translucent when steamed.

This traditional dish is always eaten in the restaurant in Hong Kong, as it is too difficult and time-consuming to make in the hustle and bustle of a big city. However, it is only in the quietness of the life in the UK that this complex recipe can form a family activity; a time of sharing, laughter and fun.

In addition, the leftover wrapper mixture can be doubled as 'playdough', to make different shapes...extending the family fun even longer!
