Iraqi Chicken and Rice



Chicken and rice seems to be a pretty popular dish which features in a lot of cuisines. The main differences come from the varieties of cooking methods and different flavourings used.

This beautiful plate of rice is topped with gently fried chicken and decorated with raisins and toasted almonds. 

It is always served with a selection of fresh salads:


Different types of soup go well with the chicken:


My favourite part was the crunchy slivers of almonds and the soft raisins which complimented the rice perfectly:


 And, no meal would be complete without some kind of sweet to go with the tea!
