Fireworks



Bonfire Night.
Yes, it's that noisy time of year again; where the babies cry and the animals run indoors for shelter at the sound of the distant banging throughout the whole of the country.

Can't really remember the last time that I went to a proper fireworks display. It's always wonderful to see the bright sparkling lights, the banging poppers and the shooting rockets.  My longest lasting memory of a fireworks display was one in Nottingham, many a years ago. I just remember the fireworks bursting through the dark black sky and raining down to the earth in colouring rays of light; it felt as if they were going to touch us.

Last night's display was a lovely homely show that captured the true feeling of this event. Not only do fireworks find their place on this special occassion, but a proper bonfire party cannot go without food. Not just any old food, but food that is fit for this type of weather, namely burgers, soup and snacks!

As we were a rather multi-cultured group of people, we were blessed enough to have a collection of delicious Polish salads:
